About the Organization
National Organization of Therapy Animal Organizations (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We respect the intellectual property rights of others and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe content on the Site infringes a copyright you own or control, you may submit a DMCA notice containing the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
- Identification of the infringing material and its location (URL);
- Your contact information;
- A statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized; and
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate, and you are authorized to act.

Takedown and Counter-Notification
Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, we will expeditiously remove or disable access to the material and notify the contributor.
If you believe material was removed due to a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification consistent with 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).
Repeat Infringers
We maintain a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the submission privileges of contributors who are deemed to be repeat copyright infringers.
No Duty to Monitor
The National Association of Therapy Animal Organizations has no obligation to monitor User Content for infringement or other legal violations and does not undertake such monitoring as a condition of publication.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold National Association of Therapy Animal Organizations and its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your submitted content, including claims of copyright infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The National Association of Therapy Animal Organizations shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or related to the Site or User Content.
Governing Law and Venue
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, and the parties consent to jurisdiction and venue in such courts.
Changes to These Terms
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
