NATAO Membership Agreement

For the purposes of this Membership Agreement, the following definitions apply:

A National Association of Animal Therapy Organizations Member (“NATAO Member“) is an organization that manages teams consisting of human and animal who provide comfort and friendship to individuals.

A National Association of Animal Therapy Organizations Affiliate (“NATAO Affiliate“) is an organization or individual that has an active interest in or works in a field related to animal assisted activities or therapy.

The NATAO Member or NATAO Affiliate:

• agrees that National Association of Therapy Animal Organizations (“NATAO”) materials, logos, and trademarks are the sole property of NATAO and may not be used without the expressed written consent of NATAO;

• may not replicate or use NATAO materials without the written permission of NATAO;

• agrees that the articles and research posted on the NATAO website become the property of NATAO, and that these items may be shared only with NATAO Members and NATAO Affiliates but cannot be disseminated to the general public or non-member TAO’s without the written permission of NATAO;

• agrees that it will not use its membership in NATAO to solicit on behalf of any cause, institution, entity (its animal therapy organization included), business, and/or individual and will not distribute any NATAO printed materials, petitions, and/or brochures unless authorized explicitly by a NATAO;

• agrees to comply with all NATAO membership requirements;

• agrees to abide by the NATAO Member Forum guidelines, as may be amended from time to time; and

• supports the beliefs and policies of NATAO and understands that any failure to comply with this Membership Agreement, as may be amended from time to time, may result in the termination of its membership in NATAO.

The NATAO Member:

• agrees to maintain liability insurance while a member of NATAO and will inform NATAO if insurance lapses for any reason. The minimum liability insurance required by NATAO is $1,000,000 per incident and $2,000,000 total.
