NATAO Community Forum Guidelines
Welcome to the National Association of Therapy Animal Organizations community! The National Association of Therapy Animal Organizations is a national network of organizations that provide trained people and animal teams to provide comfort, support, and therapeutic care. We inform, support, and connect animal therapy organizations across the country. We seek to enhance the well-being of individuals and communities through the power of the human-animal bond.
The goals of our community are to:
•Inform members with great ideas for their TAO, news about therapy animals, and therapy animal events and conferences.
•To support TAOs by posting and responding to relevant questions.
•To connect animal therapy organizations and form positive relationships.
To meet the collective goals of our community, it’s essential that all members feel safe and supported. To help everyone have the best possible experience, please take a look at our community guidelines:
Be Respectful and Kind
Treat all members with courtesy and respect. We’re all here to learn, share, and connect. Disagreements happen, but please keep discussions constructive and professional. Personal attacks, harassment, bullying, or hostile behavior won’t be tolerated.
Stay On Topic
Help keep conversations focused and valuable. Post in the appropriate forum categories and try to stay on topic within threads. If you’re starting a new conversation, make sure it hasn’t already been discussed recently.
No Hate Speech or Discrimination
We have zero tolerance for content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other personal characteristic.
Keep Politics and Religion Out
To maintain a welcoming environment for everyone, please avoid political and religious discussions. We know these topics are important, but they tend to divide rather than unite, and this isn’t the right venue for them.
No Illegal Content or Activities
Don’t post, share, or discuss anything illegal. This includes pirated content, sexually illicit content, fraud, or anything that violates the law. Content that could harm minors is strictly prohibited.
Respect Privacy
Don’t share other member’s personal information without their consent. This includes addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or any other private details. Protect your own privacy too!
No Spam or Self-Promotion
We love when members share helpful resources, but excessive self-promotion, advertising, or spam disrupts the community. If you’d like to share your business or project, please check with moderators first.
Keep Content Appropriate
This is a professional community. Please keep posts, images, and links appropriate. No explicit, graphic, or offensive content.
Give Credit Where It’s Due
If you’re sharing someone else’s work, ideas, or content, give them proper credit. Plagiarism isn’t okay, and respecting intellectual property matters.
Report Issues, Don’t Retaliate
If you see something that violates these guidelines, please report it to the moderators rather than responding in kind. We’ll handle it promptly and fairly.
Moderators Have Final Say
Our moderators work hard to keep this community healthy and welcoming. Their decisions are final. If you have concerns about a moderation action, please contact them privately.
Thank you for being part of our community! These guidelines help ensure everyone has a positive experience. Violations may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the forum, depending on severity.
